I just left the orginization.
by rocker inhey hows everyone doing... i am a resident of edmonton in canada, and i am only 16 years old, i just left the jw religion.
i just knew it wasnt in my heart, my parents dont care but i told them that i dont want to go to any meeting or talk to any of our old friends.. they still dont know why..but i fell like it was to much of a currupted situation..i felt like i was taking orders from man, not from god.
i was not baptized yet, but i was going strong in the ministry as a unbaptized publisher.

You want him to do the right thing. What is the right thing in your mind? You want him to back off Iraq. Last I checked Iraq was still funding terrorism. As long as somebody funds terrorism there will be no peace on earth. On and by the way, what are the problems America is Facing?

Look I wish peace on earth just like the next person, BUT AS LONG AS THERE ARE ROGUE NATIONS AND DICTATORS THAT SUPPORT TERRORISM THERE WILL BE NO PEACE. Wishing is one thing, the reality is another.

My JW Wife Is Going To See Harry Potter Tonight!

I saw something about this topic in one of the "clean and free of apostates" boards. It was a pretty hot topic. Some were saying that you can't see it, while others were saying it is up to your conscience. Someone even metioned that some elder even arranged a 'Lord of the Rings viewing party". Now I don't know about what is "approved viewing" now, but I know that if I even suggested to see a movie like that growing up, I would have gotten a big lecture on "Satan's world of entertainment".
Man, I still trying to catch up on the movies I wasn't aloud to view during the 80's.

for example, in my congregation years ago, just about everyone had a dodge airies.
that was an inexpensive popular car in the service then.

1990 Mitsubishi Galant. There were 5 people in our congo. that drove them to the meetings. 2 elders had them. 1 MS, and 2 wanna bee's. I always wondered what was up with that. Oh also, I went to a Spanish Congo. growing up. I know that jw's frown on people with beards , so I knew that no self respecting JayHo grew one. It was O.k. to have a mustache though. Well, when the P.O. decided to shave his (This after the Circuit Overseer's visit), within 1 week, the rest of the elders, and ms's followed suit. I remember asking my dad "why did they shave their mustache, their is nothing in the bible about that". He turns around and sais, "I don't know, but if that is what it takes to be an elder, I'll never make. I'll never shave mine ".

I wish I had the glue for you. You are definately at an advantage (17 yrs young) to have realized how much this cult has torn your family apart. You have a long life ahead of you. Anything is possible and only time will tell if you can "save" your family. I know how hard it is to realize that the reason why your family is torn apart has much to do with the borg. My mother is the only one still in the "troof". My dad was df'd for alcoholism, and he is beating his head against the wall trying to get back in. I also have a younger brother and sister who are currently not going to any meetings. Sis is married has no intentions of going back. Lil Bro is 21, I doubt that he is going to return. My advise to you, heal yourself first. Also educate yourself. I am sure you are thinking about college. The one thing that I think baffles family is seeing you having a good life and being happy not being a JW. I know, my mom gets really surprised (upset) when I tell that I'm having a great time, and I'm happy with my life. So take baby steps. Start by building up a relationship with one of the family members available. Who know this may cause a domino effect on the rest of the family.

You know you liberal pacifists just make me laugh. You don't want the USA in another countries business, but then you condemn them for putting up with existing supresive of governments. Which way do you want it? All you do is bash the USA. Do you guys have any educated argument besides "USA BAD" "USA BAD". I'm sure you guys would rather have a chinese superpower, or better yet a muslim superpower (ladies get your burkas). You people that keep bashing the USA take this country for granted. I suggest to travel abroad, to some of the third world countries and then come back and tell me USA needs to get off its moral high horse. Why don't you put your money were you mouth is and come up with some alternatives to the so called "USA Superpower".
